History:
And a Bit of History
It is our pleasure to introduce our Party-Brewery to you.
The first evidence of beer brewing in Bohemia dates back to the
beginning of 11th centrury. As early as in 1415, the Order of Hradec
Králové specifies who wants and who may produce malts. The craft of
Hradec maltsters was well organized even before the Hussite revolution
(15th century). Neither should it be omitted that in 1499, about 8.4
acres of wheat or barley were put to one brewing batch, which amounted
to 10 tubs of beer. The expression “the old measure of Hradec” had
become a known notion within the whole area where the Hradec wheat
beer—or, the White of Hradec—had been distributed.
Since 1701, beer had been allowed to be brewed in burgess houses and
served there as well. In 1830, there were 42 pubs open in the mere area
of the Great and Lesser Square’s and adjacent streets.
